Day packs?

I've been thinkin gabout a new day pack...

I think it should be made of quiet material, and camo, in case I want to drag it out when pred hunting, or anyhting else that requires remaining unseen.

I'd want it big enough to carry a spotter and a tripod, as well as have room for a spare jacket etc, so I don't want a teeny fanny pack style.

Any pack that you use and works well?

Take a look at the Badlands packs. Im using the 2200 and its been working well for me so far. Also, look at the eberlestock packs they are very good as well and i havent heard too much bad about them.

get the Camel-Back pack with the water tube hanging out of it. there like $107. at reliable gun (ship anywhere 604 874-4710) - they hold three litres of water, spare jacket, small tri-pod etc. - rubber lined straps so the butt of the gun won't slip down when your shooing with it on. very nice pack.

I'm in the same boat as you Gate. While these are more pack than I need, it's nice to be able to pack out half a deer and all your gear in one trip.
I'm still trying to decide between the pack Matt mentioned and these two .http://www.eberlestock.com/Just%20One.htm.
My current day pack is really dinky and cost me a good buck because my spotter doesn't fit in it very well.

I use a Badlands 2800. Bit different design but seems good so far! Use it for deer and chasin cats.

I got my parents to order my Badlands 2200 from Cabelas. If i had the choice to do it all over again i would go with the Eberlestock. Reason being, the Badlands 2200 just isnt big enough to pack out a whole deer and my gear. I figure i could get half to three quarters of a deer packed out in it, but i would definetely need to do a second trip. With the eberlestock you can pack out a whole deer and your gear. Plus it would work well for backpack hunting because you can have the pack expanded to fit all your gear for packing in. Then for hunting out of a spike camp you can set it up into a more compact day pack which would be ideal!

One that I am considering is the "Canadian" from www.Blacks-Creek.com (http://www.Blacks-Creek.com). It is about the right size to use when my Kifaru Siwash is too big, they also make larger and smaller sizes and I spoke with them this week, about $165.00 USD, much less than Kifaru or Mystery Ranch, my favourites.

They also have a "Bigman" belt and harness for gentlemen of "substance", however, they do not make them in "tutu" pink........no spear carriers, either.........

Gate- Don't overlook the Portapack. BC made and designed. Steep'n'deep,Calvin L and another friend have them. You get the convenience of having an external frame pack with you at all times without the noise and bulk. You never have to head back to the truck to get your pack frame. Add the new frontier pack or Sawtooth and you're good to go I'm taking a closer look at this pack now.

I use a Kelty 'Bighorn 3300', from Sportsmans Warehouse. Camo fleece (rain suede ?), needs a rain cover. Used for 2 seasons now, and have carried a couple of critters8-) or so. Holds a life size, mature goat cape and horns, leaving the small pockets for gear, but hand-carry the scope/tripod and rain gear. Comfy with 80 lbs of sheep meat in, too.
