I picked up a 1436 Jon boat off CL this past spring and I am finally getting my butt in gear to make it into a duck boat. Here is how I found it 5 months ago, http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g426/Andrewshorvath/duck%20boat/photo-1.jpg

After a little paint, stencilling with plants and a home made blind frame this is what I ended up with.

My young little hunting partner is also getting used to the new boat.

Not too bad for a couple afternoons. I just need to get down to cabelas to pick up some of the synthetic marsh grass material so I can finish the blind.

That is one great looking boat. I wish we had enough birds here in the Cariboo to justify one like that.

The boat handles great out in the marsh, I love getting into places where people are not skybusting all around you!

I finished the blind and this was on opening day, I covered the front area with natural vegetation.

I took it out again today and even though the wind was blowing, it was pretty stable in the chop.

For a stencil, all I did was paint the entire boat the sand/beige colour and then held a stem with leaves attached up to the boat and sprayed green over that. The leaves/stem blocked the green paint and left a nice sand/beige plant paint job.

Im inspired. Did you sand the Aluminum first before applying the paints"? I assume a surface profile would provide better adhesion. Nice stensiling b.t.w. - Martha Stewart would be proud.
