Put the hurt on some ducks

The past two weekends my dad, brother and I hunted one of our corn fields on our farm. On sunday we shot our 3 man limit in about an hour, 23 mallards and 1 pintail. Today my brother and I went out to the same field and got our limit of 15 mallards, 1 wigeon and 1 really small lesser goose. For about two weeks now we have had about 500 ducks in our fields every day and tons of geese fly around, i dont know what it is but the geese will come nowhere near our spread, but the duck are just divebombing it.

Wow thats some day! I'm hoping to get out on my first Duck hunt here this week. Hope I meet with the same good luck! I was out your way looking for Coho the other day and couldn't believe the number of birds I saw.

Awsome shooting boys! I just ate my one and only mallard I shot last fall last night. I've got to say it makes me want to get more. I can just imagine how they tast shot in the farm fields.

To tell you the truth I prefer shooting ducks on the wing then geese, I find it to be more fun and challenging then shooting geese as far as target size goes and there is so much more variety.

I shot a Cackler goose like that 20 years ago. Not much bigger than a mallard and it was night flight and I thought it was a mallard!
We limited out this morning with 21 mallards, 2 Gadwal and a Spoonbill (buddy Tom got ribbed good for the Spoony). Bagged a goose as well.
Going to a cornfield tommorrow as we saw a few hundred birds in there this morning on the way home. Time for a change of scenery.

P.S. Must have sounded like a small war going on to anyone else in the marsh this morning. I think between us we fired close to 80 rounds!!!
