We are planning on being based out of Clinton for the first week of October. Hopefully we will be close enough to some good moose areas now that immature bulls are open in region 5. Any good advice?Sig

Clinton is in region 3. We are planning some time around clinton and it seems like region 5 is within driving distance.

No animals? Are you trying to use reverse psychology on me to make me think that there are no animals when there are actually lots?

Zigman, virtually any main logging road from clinton north will yeild game. Just decide how far north you wanna go and start exploring!

yeah chris is right there is quite a few animals around there and like he said depends on how far north u wanna go...there is the 2 point bull mooose season in clinton too so u might get lucky and get one there...

Are they few and far between? Or are there a few areas that are better than others?

For a split second I thought immature would be reinstated as promised!

The 3 of us were hunting in 2004 but luckily were warned by some hunters we met 1/2 way into the hunt that the immature hunt was unexpectedly cancelled!

BTW. The weather near Gaspard Lake was perfect for hunting. Personally I came across 5 moose (non immature) in 1 day alone.
The first one was a cow moose hiding in the low bushes. When she got up after a near collision:shock: I thought it was a grizz but she ran away quickly!

Lees Corner BURNT to the ground ! RJ

that's the main reason it isn't worth going for a drive there. If of course you were planning on stopping in for lunch and a take away pie.

There was an ill fated attempt to have an immy season in region 5 years ago...can't remember exactly when. it only lasted a few weeks before the natives screamed so loud it got shut down.

I was driving out of the bush with an immy in the box when we heard the announcement on the radio that it was being shut down......8-)
