Welcome to the sport!! Congrats on the grouse!! Tastes like chicken eh? I'm 17, just got back from my first hunting trip ever over thanksgiving, bagged myself a grouse as well with my bow. i've become addicted to hunting, i'm sure you will too!!

got mine with a 12 gauge about 40 ft away .... fluke shot... got it in the neck

Congrats on the first kill! I remember mine, also a chicken, 18 years ago now. Keep up hunting and you'll have a life time of good memerories :)

thank you... and practiced? i do do trap but im crud! and it is cooked and eaten and addiction set in a the age 3 when my dad took me with him and in a month i need to take the core course!

I took my first one 2 weeks ago there was bunch of 'em and i took one with a .410. It wasn't the one i was aiming for but i got it in the head.

best way to shoot grouse is with a single shot 22 short keeps your eye in
doesn't make to much noise and it teaches you to take your time.

New hunter here too, and I'm having just as much fun as the kids who are new to it:lol: :lol: and I'm 36:sad: . You guys are right though, hunting has got to be the most rewarding sport that there is, can't get enough. Good hunting8)

My first kill was also a grouse, shot him in the leg, fell outta tree and broke his neck landing.

icpaintballer.do you play in a paint ball league on the island,my 15 yr old son plays in the interior paintball league ,and loves it ,the crazy thing is his paintball gun is worth more than my shootin iron.

willow grouse are the best to do in a stir fry when you take a grouse try using a 22 and take head shots really improves your aim .When your older you can try taking heads off with your deer rifle
