Swap lies and tell stories.

Drink way too much coffee. Get the shakes from caffeine so that the target is dancing. Make excuses about choosing the wrong pin when you miss the whole kill zone.

Hope to see a lot of familiar faces there.

Great. Probably a good opportunity to learn some... I'll get the details and buy you a coffee up there if it works out.

I doubt they will let you shoot the course with your .300 Weatherby Hermit. You might need to be an archer...

The shoots generally all start at 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Depends on when Bill, Janis, or someone else gets ther to organize things.

Most people get there about an hour before hand to warmup, have a coffee, and just shoot the bull.

Here is a map to the place.

Marc's a big boy who can handle lots of big boy stuff. Rumor has it that he is into "big pants" now - unlike some posters who have only 45 posts. Not mentioning any names here but the initials are http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_18.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYJOCA)BOWSITTER........

It'll be nice to meet members I haven't met yet. It's nice to be able to put a face to a name.

I've never been to this course so it'll be interesting to see what they have to offer. It might give me enough interest to dig the bow out of the closet and wipe the dust off.

Sorry guys I got a get out of jail ticket from the boss so I'm taking DirtyHarry out to try and locate him a bear tomorrow. His hunting days are numbered this fall so I'll have to miss the 3D shoot. Don't forget to wear your rain gear, it doesn't look like you'll see the sun tomorrow.

Well..........The "shindig" happened, and yes it was pi$$ing rain for about 90% of the time.

Despite that yours truly here had a heckova time! I was wearing a new camo jacket that I had bought at Wally-World (one of the Remington jackets), it was touted as being waterproof and breathable.

By the lunch break everyone was soaked on the outside, literally dripping. All those who wore their rain gear were dry on the inside, and some were soaked through and through. The Remington jacket was as advertised - waterproof and it was breathable to. I only had a t-shirt on plus the jacket but was toasty warm and was certainly dry.

The targets from 3 to 20 were in under the trees and if you weren't wet from the rain, then you got wet from the water falls coming off the trees. Plus - it was very dark in there in the morning. Hard seeing some of the targets and harder still to 10-X them. For most of us mortals that is. Bernie shot a 198 in the afternoon, and that coupled with his morning score earned him another first place ribbon - as usual.

The shoot was well set up, well attended (considering the rain) and enjoyed by all participants - from all reports.

The group that was in front of us had a young shooter by the name of Coleman in it. He said that he has been shooting for only a coupe of years so far - he shoots recurve - and yet he still took 1st place in his division. Good on ya, Coleman!! He must be part duck to as he didn't seem to mind the rain at all. Yup, he swims like a fish. Great big $10.00 grin as he was presented with his ribbon.........Mom even forgot how cold she was for a while!

Congratulations are owed to Doug, Eric, and the lovely lady who was there at 7:30 in the morning putting the coffee on. The hot chili con carne at lunch disappeared in short order as well. Great on a miserable day.

All in all another successful shoot put on by the Cowichan group. Thanks guys.

BoWalker hows the arm after todays shoot.
I made it all the way around both legs of the shoot. I had to wrap up the wrist as it is still a little tender, but overall I am pleased with how it held up. Thanks for asking.

Now - November is coming:twisted: Save some deer for me out there.
