Anyone know if the red tide warning was been cancelled?

Are parwns affected by the red tide warning?

I might be going crab/prawning on sunday:)

Red tide does not effect prawns or crabs. Just bio-valve's like clams, oysters, and mussels etc.. Good luck the prawning is starting to pick up again. We went out on Wed. night and got 300 prawns in about an hour and a half.

As Johnny said.......stay away from the bi-valves and gorge yourself on the prawns and crabs.

I actually replied to your question earlier but somewhere the post disappeared. I will be trying my luck around Gabriola area this weekend.

Anyone willing to share any good areas to try? I will be in Silva Bay and for some reason we have not had much luck around there, yet tend to do very well everywhere else??

Well we caught 9 of the biggest crab 3 of us have ever seen. We also got about 75 prawns and lost 2 traps.

Were the crabs soft shelled or moulting? Bummer about the traps, should I even ask how you lost them?
