I am new to using a Cross Bow to hunt, (I have been at the range getting used to it for the last year, on and off) and this will be my first year in the field with it. I am using an Excalibur Exomax Crossbow and I am wondering what would be the best grain & type of broad head to use for deer? Thanks fo any help I can get with this.

Radar I would use the same wieght of broad head as the field point on the bolt you are shooting . It will most likly be 125 grain that will take any of the animals in canada with the correct shot placment .Have fun & good luck .

Ya I would say: 125 gr or 100 gr fixed blade broad head would do just fine.

I use the 100 grain Wasp Jackhammer Select a cut...Cutting diameter is 1.75 inches, makes a big hole....:-D :-D

As already said - same weight as your field points. As to the head itself - me - I'm a fan of Razorcaps for fixed, and Rocky Mtn Snypers for mechanicals. Though, with the Exomax shooting well north of 300FPS, a broadhead to maximize penetration is probably not your biggest concern - you've definitely got the KE to hammer a less than optimal broadhead clean through a critter and then some. But, why use a less than optimal broadhead - that's the question, eh? :)
