http://100_0277http://100_0278Yesterday my friend and I were target shooting and I shot my arrow right into his. It split the nock and lodged right in the middle of the arrow at least 6".

is this rare or does it happen often? I will post some pics of it in the gallery and someone can put it in this thread if they want. thanks

I've seen it a couple times, pretty cool and I'd keep it for sure. I've broken a bunch of nocks but so far nothing thats stuck together.

Good job

can be common on the 3D course when you get a group of good shooters together. i did it once and didn't like losing a $12 arrow so I always shoot seperate spots for each arrow.

They did an episode on the show "mythbusters" with this...I think they shot thousands of arrows, even using mechanical draw and release mechanisms and couldn't get an arrow to split another evenly...congradulations

PS I don't see the pictures

That is a definite wall hanger Pupper. It isn't too rare but it isn't all that common either. The best I have done there is tear vanes. Fred

The episode of mythbusters was all about doing a robinhood with wood arrows, it is very unlikely because the grain of the arrows doesn't always run the entire length.

i have done that 3x and i have them hanging on my wall, all three were 30 yard shots, i have broken knocks and torn lots of flights but only 3 were robin hoods and they were all "tried to do it shots". the best one was my first shot at my buddy's arrow and his arrow was was brand new fired only once!
cheers............ddog

Me and a buddy did it one time from 50m shooting a FITA. He lodged his ACC right down the shaft of my 2315 without shearing any aluminum off. It was pretty cool. Hanging on the wall at the club.

I've gotten 'a Robinhood' myself--on a family night shooting 18 m indoors! That was a couple of years ago and I still have it on my mantle!

I did it once just after I started shooting. Didn't realize it was something I should keep so I threw them away. Silvertip Archers has a bunch of them in there meeting room. Mike

I've got about $150 worth of robin hoods hanging in my shop. Fun for the first few, but just gets exspensive from then on

But a job well done to all that have done it.

Last winter at the Prince George indoor shoot we had 2 Robin Hood's in the same group in one day. James Laundry Robin Hooded Samantha Wrights. She was shooting the bigger shafts and James' arrow went all the way in to the point where it was peeling the fletches off. The next round Al Campsall, who was shooting smaller diameter arrows put one half way into my arrow.

I have personally had 3. One was at 40 yards.
