3 vets has lots of selection, as does MEC. AJ brooks has good boot fitters and they carry meindl.

Check out the nearest location of Red wing shoes. I have dealt with the one in Surrey but I believe there's one in Burnaby somewhere. They are great boots and the service has always been excellent. If nothing else it gives you some basis for comparison.

LLoyd what size are your feet, i have a pair of new rocky wild wolfs in size 7 , they are waterproof and have thinsulate, these are a very lite pair of boots. I picked up a pair of irrish setter elk trackers and another pair of rocky boots. if you want the wild wolfs i will let you have them for $20.00, thats if they fit you, otherwise im keeping them for hunting in september. if you are already in the lower mainland I would strongly suggest ajbrooks or the backpacker store next to it, both will give good advice and have high quality boots.

Bought a pair of boots from Red Wing about eight years ago, think the name was Vasque. Great light hiking boot, warm and water proof. You will pay a good dollar but they are worth it!!

Hi,
I owned a pair of Orvis labelled Danner boots for years and they remain the best boots I've ever had. Sadly they are not around any more but I hike in a pair of Meindle's and they are almost as good.

I just picked up a set of Kamik Troopers at Canadian Tire, a real good boot for winter, I thought my feet were wet when I was walking but the insulation is to thick for walking in late summer early fall!

Hi,
I've heard this too. I suppose its a case of horses for courses with boots. If they feel comfortable and have decent build quality they should be fine.

The only (and I mean only) gripe I have with Danners is that my current pair were made in China.
