build or buy a trap, not too hard to catch your own.

Do a search on Pigeon Trap and you'll be set. Most dog supply stores sell them, or just the enterances as well.

Very best,

Ian

I have a trap that I bought and it works well if you have time and place to leave it for a while. I've found it's easier to just bait a flock with some corn and then throw a large salmon net over a few when they gather round my feet. Usually pick up 4 or 5 at a time.

Try the livestock auction on 56th Avenue in Langley (by the airport).

I haven't been there for a few years now but would be willing to bet you'll find some there.

Dude: if the discharge of a shotgun was legal in Surrey, I would fill a bushel for you.
Some idiot has a flock of pigeons in my area.
They crap on the laundry and just generally annoy me.
I wanted a duck to hang around my pond, eat slugs and weeds; but oh no, not allowed.
Yet you're allowed to have something like 10 poop bombers, go figure.

I wonder if you could have an Ocelot at your place Rob! That would take care of those pigeons! Fred

mrdoog have you tried one of the plastic owls they sell in hardware stores? Worked pretty well for me when I had a pigeon problem.

Here in Winnipeg we used to go underneath railway tressles at night(take a flashlight) and used a really big fishnet and just scoop them up, same in old barns......free pigeons.

I am still looking for a trap. In the meantime, I think it will be my old Cooey with Subsonics and my stinger flashlight. Maybe a dip net for a few live birds. You're right about the eating and shitting part....what about the procreation end of things? Aren't they flying rabbits in that regard?

thanks

if you have an air rifle, my buddy has one of the largest cattle farms this side of the river. he likes to shoot them and the starlings.
