Haven't been on the Island for 5 yrs.
Have a few days next month to fish out of Pedder Bay.
The tides look to be the smallest of the summer in the mornings.
Any sense trying for springs at Beechy head ?
Maybe go out a few miles for Coho ?
Could always jig for some bottom action with my 9 yr old son.

Any opinions appreciated.

Thanks

Fishing should be great by then. Fishing the Head to the Trap Shack will be a good bet. Target Springs. The coho may not be around yet. I usually get my biggest springs of the year in the first week of July.
I fish almost every week around here. Give me an e-mail closer to the time and I will give you the latest scoop.

I wonder if Boycotting Cheanua Marina would be a good measure to counter protest the local natives illegal blockade of the nearby "Yates property" and access to the Juan de Fuca rifle club range.

Thanks Lucky, We will give the Head and Trap Shack a shot for sure.
Can always jig something up later in the morning if things are slow and my 9 yr old son gets bored.
I will email you in early July,
Thanks for the info.

Steel ram,
Don't know the particulars of that, but It's a shame that that goes on.
My uncles boat was at Cheyenna for years before he sold it.

Sterling idea Steel_Ram! Do it and get some publicity happening so that the natives are aware that their actions are going to affect their pocket, maybe they'll have a change of heart.

Hey Greg, long time no hear. I've moved south and am on your route. Have lost your email address, so PM me on this site with it and I'll get back too you.

Just remember, that for coho, only adipose clipped (hatchery) are open, not wild ones.

Are springs best at depths of 25 & 40 ft ?

Trying to recall where we had out down riggers many years ago.

Thanks

I pick up a number of nice ones off of aldridge point
60 feet on downrigger with a 10 pound ball
green glow hot spot flasher
anchovey in a white glow teaser head with a 6 foot leader
If you have a GPS try 1.8 tp 2.2 MPH ground speed

TBark'Tis so. Moved to Kamloops finally. Retired early. PM your email address to me, I've lost yours when I up-graded computers. If you still have mine, it is still good.
