Anyone on here hang out up by Rupert or Port Edward? I have fished Edye pass last week and last year in August. Caught some nice cohos last August. Friend caught a nice 29lb spring last trip. Looking to go more towards Dundas Island next trip. Hear the halibut fishing is better that way.

I hang out in Rupert pretty much every day. Dundas isn't too bad for salmon and halibut.

So Thunderstix I'm taking my 13 yr old son up that way in mid-late July. Going for salmon and Halibut and crabs. Would Dundas be a better bet than Edye pass area? Or could you reccomend elsewhere?... by PM if you wish. We live in Prince George and want to come Ocean fishing 1-2times per year. Thanks for your help.

Depends on where the run(s) are at. Squateri and Lucy Island aren't too bad and are a close jaunt if the water's bad and you don't have a big boat. I'm heading up there next week for a couple days - will report.

Both are pretty good, but I would say Halibut is better around Dundas.

Sounds tempting Thunderstix. Is this a handed down family secret or is the recipe avalible for $$$.

$$$$ Talks, but you can't afford it!:p .....But....... You could probably sample it at my house...you bring the fish and I'll do the rest.

Also, in August the Coho fishing is very good at Lucy which of course is much closer than every where else. There are some halibut to be had there as well.

Fishing was goog - weather was brutal. Winds were blowing gale. Ended up out at Dundas for one afternoon and one morning. 11 springs landed in our group and a couple chickens caught also. Biggest was just over 32 average was 25-27 lbs range. Monsters haven't shown up yet but it shouldn't be long.

Good luck.
