walksalot, when you get a chance to try it out let me know what you think. These look like they combine security(arrow cant fall off) with the benefit of a fall away rest.

fantastic rest IF it is set up correctly....and thats a big IF. I have had one that has performed flawlessly on my hunting rig for 3 or 4 years now. You must get the correct angle on the draw cord to the down cable or it will not release the rest to drop, as happened on a freinds bow till we got it set up properly. Get it set and dropping properly and you will love it.....very reliable and I can say that having hunted with it in Cariboo weather conditions down to about -25 or so.

Good Luck
Chris

The bow had to be ordered from the factory so it may be a little while but as soon as I fling a few arrows through it I will let you know.

I have used one for well over a year now. I love it. Never had any problem. I even emailed the company before my elk trip last year looking for a spare launcher arm "they are plastic". They sent me one at no cost, but I still have not needed to use it.

Looks like a great concept. I wouldn't mind trying one. I'm presently using a Trophy Taker, no complaints but I do like the 'looks' of the Ripcord. Keep us posted on how it turns out, I may 'need' one.;-)

BSA 30-06, well I got my bow and the Ripcord rest is going back. The rest would not fall when the arrow was released so I am ordering in a Trapdoor rest.

if the rest wil not fall it is simply because the angle of the cord to the down cable is not right. we had the same issue with a freind of mines and with some minor adjustment it now works flawlessly. As stated previously it MUST be set up properly or it will not function.

Good luck with whatever rest you settle on

When I draw the bow to full draw and ease it down slowly the rest will drop but if I shoot an arrow the rest won't drop. I am coming to full draw each time and I even shortened the cord and the same thing happened.
The rest was istalled by a pro shop so I suspect it is set up correctly but I will look at it again.:frown:

I was thinking of getting me a rip-cord rest too. Then I read the posts here and found there is way to much fiddling involved to get it right. I hate to think of all the trouble one could run into with a rest like that in the woods. Another string to hang up and snag on brush. Looks like another smart idea invented by an archer not a bowhunter. Thanks, I keep my simple prong rest, it's fail safe.

I am sending this one back and ordering a Trapdoor rest. It has no cord to be messing around with.

Once I get my new rest I will post a picture. It looks naked without a rest.
