I'm liking it so far, had a bit of hand shock, but I swapped stabilizers and hope that will calm it dow. Its touchy at only 31" ATA. But I like it. Will be looking forward to popping its cherry on a nice bruin in a month or so.

Martin Phantom w/ Magnum limbs. About 5 years old now. Pulling 58 lbs at a 29" draw.

It has seen some upgrades as far as sights, rests, and stabs - but I still love it (i have to, i can't afford another!)

It's my hunting partner as well as my 3D advantage over competitors.

Kirby, that's one heckuva looking machine you've got there.

Blacktail and cowboy, what models are those?

My hunting/3D rig - Hoyt Razortec. I know I've got a close-up of it but danged if I can find it.

No pic of my bow so I try to describe it. Looking at all the bows here mien is like a dinosaur in comparison.

Bow: Buckmasters
Axle to Axle: 39"
Weels: single cam
Brace height: 6.5"
Draw length: 28"
Draw weight: 65 lb. 75% lettoff.
String and cable: Zebra
Rest: Drop away prong rest.
Sight: True-Glo 2 pin. One set at 15 yards the other at 25 yards.
Stabilizer: none
Quiver: Kwiky when I hunt from a treestand. Will be taken from the bow once in the stand. Hip-Quiver when I spot and stalk. I hate having to much stuff on my bow making noice or rattle loose.
Silencers: On the bow limbs none on the string, what ever is cheap, sometimes rubber spiderlegs sometimes the wooly kind. Riser and arrow rest coverd in mole skin.
Arrows: Easton aluminum shafts of assorted types and styles. Buy what ever is on sale usually though 2514 Super-Slam or equivelant Game-Getter and Camo-Hunter.
Fletching: 5" helical featers.
Nock: Whatever they put on and does hold the arrow on the string.
Broadheads: 125 grain Magnus with bleeder blades. Sometimes 125 grain Thunderheads, or 125 grain Muzzy.
Arrow speed: Haven't got a clue, fast enough for a pass through.

The bow is ugly as sin and banged up. But it has taken a lot of game and continues to do so and that is all that matters to me. Maybe I buy soon a new one but it's hard to find bows longer than 35" to 36". I like them 39" and still better a little longer. Brand doesn't matter. Killing deer with it does.:-D

canuck2, so far i have no complaints i seem to be able to group arrows with no problem and the ones i don't i know are my fault. The whiscker bisquit does exactly what it is designed for, it holds the arrow perfectly and i can see how it can be an advantage if your sitting in a tree stand for awhile. Its just one of those things, some people are going to like them and some won't but until you actually try one for yourself and not listen to what other people said good or bad you'll never now if it works for you. There not that expensive try one you might like it, i know i'll try a few other rests and you never now i might find something i like better, or i mght go back to my biscuit.

I had a fair number of "experts" tell me they were no good but for a lack of anything else available I got one of the new models and find it to work as advertised and with none of the damaging effects to my vanes that the "experts" warned me about. Fred

That is interesting to hear. I have read a survey on TNDeer, a forum I frequent often. In that poll 92% of over 1000 hunters hated the WB rest.

As for me, I haven't made my mind up about the WB, never used one yet. Maybe one day I will be given one to field test.;-). I am very frugal you know.:)

I'm with fred on this one i haven't had one damaged vane or any other problems with my biscuit.I think theres alot of peole out there that will tell you they hate them because of something a friend had happen or something they heard somebody say about them., and in fact have never tried one but will give you an opinion they have no right to make.I believe the biscuit is something you'll have to try and make your own decision on.Some people like ford or gm or chev or dodge doesn't make any of the others garbage its just a matter of personal prefernce.Like i have said i haven't been doing this long enough to give anybody my opinion but i have used the bicuit almost daily for the last 3 weeks and have not had one problem.

You are absolutely right with your statement. The one single reason why I don't try to many new products is because I am very comfortable with what I use and it produces the results I exspect from it.

It does not nearly as much matter what brand or equipment a person uses as it does to have a trust in the equipment of choice. That in turn will make shooting a joy and this will improve proficiency. What works for one person may not work for another one but it does not mean that it is "crap". Sometimes it makes me laugh when I hear people bashing equipment soely based on their personal opinion and then give advice to others not to use such and such brand because it sucks.

bsa, I have used a WB and found it to be just fine. I also have a couple buddies who wouldn't use anything but. However, I found that - for me - it didn't provide the fine accuracy I want for target shooting, which is 90% of my shooting. I have Trap Doors on both my target bow and hunting/3D bow and am sold on them. Diff strokes for diff folks.;)

canuck2 your absolutely right the biscuit might not produce the fine accuracy youre looking for when target shooting, specially if most of your shooting is in tournaments, where i could see you would want little or no contact on the arrow as it leaves your bow.

Jack, if I was able to shoot like you I might worry about the possability of a slight decrease in accuracy. But I can't and so don't give it much thought especially since having the arrow fall off of the rest was a bigger problem. Interestingly enough, I ran low on my regular "fat shafted" arrows at the last 3D in Penticton and tried out some of the skinny lighter arrows of my sisters that I brought along for just such an eventuallity. I found these skinny arrows worked better than the regular ones even though they really "slopped" around in the WB. Fred

Good thread guys and some sweet looking rigs. I saw Kirby's in Merritt and it is a fine piece of machinery. I don't have any pics of my 2 bows' one is a Diamond Rapture made by Bow Tech which is my target/3D bow and the other is my High Country Carbon Force which is my hunting bow.
One thing I noticed on most of the bows is a lack of a " kisser button " I use one and would be uncomfortable without it. Thoughts ??? Mike

If i could post pic.s on this thing i would i have a hoyt razertec and a trykon xl. Old timer i have never used a kisser button but know a few people that do it`s just what ever works. Just want to say about the WB some are calling it junk its not a target rest allthough i know many that use it for 3d some good shooters to. This piece of junk has 40% of the rest market.

Fred

I have used one in the distant past Mike but as of this moment I don't notice the lack of one. My eyes are so bad that they are my greatest handicap to accuracy. :???: Fred
