My first big game animal I took in Switzerland (my former home) at the age of 11 with my fathers 12 gauge slug gun a nice little Roe-Buck (Smaller relatieve of whitetail deer). Yep back then there where no laws about age restrictions. If you could hold a gun you could shoot it. The next day when I went back to school everybody thought that I had a good fight or else fallen down the stairs. My shoulder was a little swollen but mostly blue and black. my ear was thick swollen, so was the right side of my face and in pretty colour shades of light to dark blue with a hint of green. Them 12 gauge slug guns kick hard, especially when you are only 11.:-D

My first big game animal was a nice 2 point Muley. A nice 30 yrds shot straight to the top of the heart, ran maybe 75 yrds into the bush. Cleaned up and deboned, came out with 125 lbs of meat. Was way to excited after shooting him, that both me and my dad forgot to take some pictures. Still remember that moment to this day, some 10 yrs ago ish.

Mine was a small 2 pt muley. Shot in the lungs at about 50 yards, went 10 yards and dropped. Was with my buddy and his dad, and my buddy shot an even smaller 2 pt 3 days before! But it was awesome!!! I loved every moment of it..
All my pics got deleted but u can check out this lil video I made!

First animal was a 3 pt Mulie when I was 11. I shot him from about 10 paces just under his chin with my dad's old 7x57 and a 120 grain Nosler solid base.

Ahh another kicker to my first deer... shot it a week before my limited entry for whitetail doe was to open in 8-15, so never did end up using that LEH, which just so happened to be the first and last one I have ever gotten.

Mine was a doe, just outside the city limits of some town on Vancouver Island, about 30 years ago. I was shooting a Winchester model 94, 30.30, the ammo came with the rifle. It was on sale at Simpson/Sears, known now as Sears.
My brother was laughing because i was so hyped that I came back through the bush with the doe in one hand, and my rifle in the other.
Since then that rifle took a few nice bucks, and a few fat does.
I shot with Williams peep sights. My rule of thumb was not to shot anything over 100 yrds. I drove my brother crazy some evenings, we would walk into clear cuts, see deer on the fringes, and I wouldn't shoot. He bagged more bucks because he was shooting a .303 with a scope. Hey, if you can't see your target, don't shoot,,, right!
My brother now has 30.06, and my Dad swapped me for his .308 for my 30.30.
I was in heaven, the .308 had a scope.
I've taken some nice bucks with my Dad's .308, and if he's with me, he always reminds me that's he's a better shot.
I've seen the pictures of my Dad's hunts from the 50's and 60's from around Barriere. They took some awesome animals.
Ok, Ok, I rambling.
Always remember your first animal, you are blessed with a harvest.

My first deer and my first rifle. I bought an old army surplus 6.5x55 husquavarna loaded up with some Imperial 160 gr bullets. Man did those things look weird. I was hunting with a friend of mines father. He jumped a deer and took a shot at it and it fell. Come to find out he just scared the bejesus out of it because it got up and started to bound away. He was in the evergreens and I could see an opening so I waited for him to cross. He slowed down to a walk right in the opening and for some strange reason I put the crosshair of the scope on the tip of the nose and squeezed the trigger. (I think it was because I did a lot of rabbit hunting and always took head shots.) The sound of the bullet going off sounded muffled I was concentrating so hard on the shot. He dropped instantly. I told the other guy I shot him. He said I guess you shot him he just dropped on the spot. I said I think I shot him in the head, the other guy said there is no way you shot him in the head from there. Sure enough I shot him in the ear and blew half the other side of his head off. I still kick myself for selling that rifle. It was just a button buck whitetail but it was my first deer and man was I proud of that little deer.

My first animal was a blacktail fork that I got in behind Port Renfrew. I think I was 14. Man was I excited. . . You couldn't of done anything to peel that grin off my face. I had gotten my licence when I was 12. It was right when they changed the rules so that you could take the test when you were 11 and I had just turned 12. My dad bought me the Ruger 77 Mark II Compact in a .243. I'm never going to get rid of that thing. Still my favorite and I'm thinking about getting another in .308.

Great moose . My first animal was a whitetail doe on the dead run in alta on the farm . I did not get the one I was aiming at . (the one behind her )
As it goes 2 hours later (thank god for snow) I had my first animal . It was a long drag back the the truck across the little red deer river but I have been hooked since then . I only wish we had better bird hunting in BC .

Yup that's the one, mine still had the threads on the end of the barrel for a silencer. I had a woman try and sell me a silencer for it when I was in Norway. I ended up just cutting the threaded part of the barrel off myself and got a nice wooden stock for it. Shot a lot of whitetails with that rifle.
