Always nice to see how accomodating our volunteers are in the community. Lots of guys put in countless hours teaching and working and doing the tests so that new people can get out to hunt.

Round of applause for blacktail and his fellow core examiners :)

Good luck with the exam. If you read the book that many times I'm sure you'll do fine. My son took the CORE course from Blacktail this past weekend and with Roy's expert guidance managed to pass the exam.

Good luck with the exams. I had to make a CORE test too when I moved to BC, despite hunting all my life!!! It's easy and mostly common sense.

you need to put in some hours before the exam if you're challenging. it's easy, but still you have to study. I passed the exam at 96% mark some years ago, but I had read the manual for 3 weeks.

goo luck!

Way to go guys. Whats first, you can go wolf hunting right now or wait some and go after bear. My vote is for wolves.

oz its beter if they wait until the end of march, they have to get a new licence then. i mean if they bought a licence now, they would have to buy another one at the end of march.

Ozone

Or they could buy one today, get 3 wolves buy March 31 then buy new licences and get 3 more.

Yes thanks all. A good round of applause goes out to Blacktail for letting us come down and use some of his time up to write this exam. We just got in from a full days worth of shopping (brother got a new hunting knife, mine is still beter, lol)

What we are going to do is problably wait untill bear season start because we have some friends up here at the lake that will take us bear hunting. I dont know about wolves up here at the lake, problably hard to find.

Anyway, thanks again for all you guys's support and Blacktail for letting us write the exam.

Yeah, I do really appreciate all the time I can actually do something with him. He's either working, working on university or busy doing something that doesnt really involve me. So hunting and shooting (plus the paintball) we get some time.

I just talked to my neighbour and he's willing to take us out and get a blackie in april for a flat or beer, lol. So if I am going to go bear hunting, I will do some scouting in April then if I see what I like I will get a tag, and hoepfully get a nice sized bear.

03-20-2006, 10:00 PM
Well thats a good deal, flat a beer for takin ya out huntin lol, cant beat that. Well hopefully you find something big and shoot 'er. Same with me, I got plans with a couple guy son here to go on my first spring bear hunt, hopefully if all works out, I'll get myself a bear! PRetty stoked, and with my new bow thats gunna be here soon too! Cant wait!

That's a good score and all you need. A few trick questions you stumbled over, I guess.

Congratulations and welcome to the hunter fold, may you have many successful and enjoyable hunts.

Excellent work. You beat me - I only got 73. :)

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the BCWF and then the Fish & Wildlife Branch responded with the course certificate & hunter number card respectively. I did both by mail and the total turnaround for both was about 2 weeks.

Can't believe the only Government Agent office in the Lower Mainland is over in Maple Ridge... you'd think they'd have a few here and there. But no.

thanks guys. the one i got wrong was something about baiting bears and what it does to hunting. i think i misread the question or it was worded weird. whatever. now i can't wait to get out and test my bow in the fied. i've only been doing target shooting so far.

If were to buy a licence right now, would it be good for this sept. deer season?
