Chris, I ended up with the Alpine Avalanche. New to the market, IBO rating around 310, I was going to go with the Trykon, or a new Bowtech, but I managed to getahold of a couple guys I know down south who are shooting it, and they are raving about it, so I took a risk. It should be in this week, I'll be field testing it. I'll let you know what i think of it.

That rig looks rather interesting Kirby....hopefully your coming up for the pig roast/3D shoot again this year so i can try it out!! Whats the brace on it and ATA?

Chris

Chris, I will definatly be up there for the pig roast!!

The bows is super short @ 31" ATA, and a 6.25" brace hight. I was(am) kinda worried over the bow, wasn't sure if it was the right choice, but after talking with the guys I figured I'd giver a go. I managed to test fire a couple bows here at the club, nothing really got me cranked up, I do still want to test fire a trykon though.

Sealevel, I would like to make it up there but I am pretty tight for time these days. I think the first shoot I make will be Vernon, as a warm up for the Merrit shoot the next weekend.
You making Merrit? or Vernon?

That would be a nice shoot to attend. Hows the new bow working out? Getting use to the feel yet? Will have to meet up in Vernon, you ever shot it before? I haven't shot there since the late 90's.

WillyQ, you making it to merrit this year? How bout oldtimer? Would be ncie to grab a couple wobblys.

Kirby ... As far as I know the whole tribe is coming down for Merritt. ( motel booked and all ) apparently we are staying at the motel with the slide because the Gkids want to see " poppa " and daddy go down the slide. I think they figure we will get stuck !!!!! Anyway we will be there and as I understand it there will be lots of wobbly pops with you and Darcy. Not sure how many from Quesnel coming but should be good. Mike

WOW!!!! I gotta say that it certainly fits the bill size wise for your backpack hunts, which I'm sure was a major consideration, but it sure is going to be a technically demanding bow to shoot!

That a pretty short ata kirby . Criss is right you will need near perfict form to shoot it. You might want to try one of those metal dloops to avoid nock pinch.

Kirby

Definatly gonna be a tight bow on the form, looking forward to testing it out. Shortest bow I have shot much before was 33" ATA. Will have to see what I think of it.

Sealevel, definatly going to a loop. Don't think this will be a fingers bow:p .

Just got off the phone with the shop, was shipped up earlier this week, might be in tomorrow, or early next week.

Kirby, head south from Vernon toward Kelowna and 2 or 3 (or so) miles out, there's a turnoff to Predator Ridge golf course. It's up that road a few clicks, but before you get to the golf course.
