I got a new cz 22 for xmas and now I need a scope.

I have it narrowed down to a bushnell 3X9 rimfire or Vortex 4X12 adjustable parallax.

The main purpose is for head shooting grouse at 25 yards.

Please tell me your thoughts on these or any other scopes under 200 for this specific purpose stated. I have firearms set up for everything else so grouse at 25 yards will be the primary quarry.

Thanks in advance.

Accurate ammo recommendations would also be appreciated.

At 25 yards either should do the trick...Ammo is whatever your rfle likes. Try a few different brands and experiment. Usually the hyper velocity ammo i s a bt less accurate- but not always.

Vortex Crossfire 3-9x40 only $139.00

Ammo? anything in the LR category will do just fine.

Does the Bushnell have parallax adjustment? If not choose the Vortex,as
non parallax scopes are set for 100 yds in most case's.As for ammo I had
to go through various brands to find the most accurate for reasonable $.
If you can find some Standard Plus brand try it.Bought mine from Reliable.

I have a Bushnell Rimfire on my Savage MkII. I'm not exactly proud of it, but it seems accurate and holds zero fairly well, although I do know that a big enough bump will knock it off some.

I think what makes it a 'rimfire' scope is that the parallax is preset for 50 yards instead of 100.

I went to Russells in Calgary last fall and compared a bunch of rimfire scopes. Went outside with them. They did not have Vortex. But I compared Leopold Bushnell and WEaver. Weaver was the best brightness and crisp image. And half the price of Leupolds.
