Decided that I am going to give waterfowl hunting 100% of all I have. I want to pick up some good quality floating Decoys tomorow or this weekend and was just wondering were the best place is to purchase them and a Robo Duck?

Thanx in advance for the help.

Italian sporting has Robo ducks and they carry Flembeau dekes.I personally prefer Greenhead gear which can be bought at Wholesale sports in Burlington Washington.

The best value I've seen is from Cabelas or Wholesale. As mention by Buck in Burlignton it is Sportsman Warehouse and not Wholesale sports I believe.

All the sportsman warehouses in usa were bought by wholesale sports in canada, so they are called wholesale sports now.

Yeagers in Bellingham 360-733-1080
Holiday Sports Burlington 360-757-4361 (I-5 and HWY 20)
Wholesale Sports Burlington 360-755-0500

Battery operated Robos are illegal in Washington but I know that some of the stores carry them for our northern neighbors. Dave's Sports in Lynden has some. 360-354-5591

Good luck finding what you need.

I'd check out Stillwater Sports in Ladner.Brian usually has a good decoy selection because of his location near the major waterfowling areas, and he is a duck hunter as well. Gunner

Get a dozen flambeu floating dekes they are $59/ dozen at Powderkeg in Merritt (not sure about the coast prices)
Then buy a good duck call or two and learn how to use them. This will turn you into a good duck hunter.

You dont need an electronic flapper, its total overkill and good duck hunters dont need them.

I've got a lucky duck and I leave it at home half the time. I think it helps some in low light but with the decoys set out in a good pattern I haven't really seen any difference. The best advice has been given. Start with a dozen and a good call, practice and your good to go.

Thanks everyone.

I icked up a half dozen Flambeau decoys and a MOJO Mallard from Wanstalls.

Reliable Gun was sold out

Italian Sporting Goods was sold out

International Shooting was sold out

Wanstalls was the only place that had them and they only had two left, one after I picked up mine.

If you are hunting in an area with other hunters (like the marsh in Ladner) the Mojo - Robo duck is a must. We didn't have one at first and found it a lot more difficult to bring the ducks in because most other guys are using a Mojo. If the other hunters in the area are using a mojo then they have a huge advantage. Calling is a huge advantage but is not easily picked up. Start with the Mojo and learn to call.

Actually they bought some of them, but not all. There are still Sportsmans Warehouses in CA, CO, etc. Just none close to BC!

Yeah, they bought pretty much all the ones near the canada border and converted them. I remember posting this awhile back.

15 stores are being sold to UFA Co-op.
• Bend, OR
• Bozeman, MT
• Burlington, WA
• Coeur d’Alene, ID
• Fargo, ND
• Federal Way, WA
• Helena, MT
• Kennewick, WA
• Lacey, WA
• Missoula, MT
• Portland, OR
• Salem, OR
• Silverdale, WA
• Spokane, WA
• Vancouver, WA

The rest were liquidated to try and save them. This was back in March so I guess it all didnt work out quite aswell. Same goes for "Joes" going bankrupt.

Here are the SWs that are still in business, for anyone who might be travelling further afield in the USA.

Crazy Ducker. Do you mean you bought a battery that's no good or the battery that came with the decoy was no good?

I just bought a couple at Lordco for about $8 each. The original battery that came with my Mojo lasted 2 seasons. K

The battery in my mojo that I picked up from Wanstalls has gone strong for atleast 6-8hrs and has yet to die before I am finished a hunt. When I do need a new battery I will buy a high quality Remote Control Car or Helicopter Battery pack with charger as you can get battery chargers that will charge the battery in a matter of hours.

New news, the young fellow behind the counter at SMI informed me that the apparent reason I am not getting full life is the charger is cooking them. The stock charger does not know when the battery is charged so continues to pump it up ,they can be overcharged a few times then they go the other way.I now have a new charger for 6 and 12 volt that shuts off when the battery is fully up.Wow 350ps thats a good price I have seen them in the states for 12 but 20 was the cheapest up here. Will have to check out Lordco for another spare at that price.

Just to satisfy my curiousity I fully charged my Mojo Robo Duck up and have had it running in my garage for the past 20hrs straight and its still going. Yes it is only 2 weeks old and only been used 6 times but its still exceeding the 8hrs claimed by the manufacture.

I think when its in a controlled environment (garage) it probably will exceed man. specs.I was out tonight and it was blowing pretty good out the valley and you could hear the motor load up when the wind gusts hit it ,plus the cold .But it ran full out for three hours no problem.I noticed something else too whenever I hooked a flock of more than 5 birds and they started to set up they flared when they got within 100 yds of Mojo, turned him off and had two nice bunches right in over my 6 dekes.Guess they have seen to much of that wing thing:wink::wink:
