Heard you did okay on opening day. Well there's nothing like heavy equipment to get'er done eh?

Opening day was alright, I went solo and set up along an escape route that i thought the canadas might take after being shot at in another field. They took the other escape route across to richmond instead.
870 and I went out to try to find a snow goose or two yesterday. It was pretty tough shooting. Wait, let me rephrase that. It was tough retrieving the birds with geese constantly coming to the decoys. Geese were coming in steady as we were setting up decoys, out walking around, while the dog was retrieving, and while we were packing up. So we got our limits in an hour or so, went for a walk got 3 roosters walking a barley field. Made our way back to the Bayshore by 5 and had a decent duck hunt. Took this pic after we got back from our Pheasant hunt. The dog is looking a a flock trying to land in our spread

What a goose hunt you guys had! Awsome blind!

My dad says he misses the days of pheasant hunting on the mainland with his dad and uncle. Good job on getting them.

it was nice to see you guys letting those geese get within range rather than sky busting. hope you got that goose i left ion your truck that went down in the field south of you. my dog was going nuts watching you so i sent
him out to get that one.....good work....fowl

I assume we got the bird, by the time I got to the truck, there were 4 birds already there. I think my dog was a little overwhelmed by all the geese. She's still learning and by the end of the shoot, she had made two very long full retrieves. I'll be out there tomorrow around noon if you want to join us for a shoot.

Nice shooting. I hunted Ladner Marsh last year and some this but so few ducks so far this year, and the geese just fly high like last year. I envy you your Westham access plus pheasants to boot. Good on ya on the round robin hunting day.

and the geese just fly high like last year.

The geese are cooperating a lot better this year. Lots of young birds that are very willing to come into a half decent spread.
