Well opening day was pretty warm, as usual, in the Kamloops area. I normally spend September hunting grouse and poking around to see were the deer are hanging out. Today I went to a spot that holds Blue grouse every time I've been there, usually I am carrying a rifle though, so I figured I would make a trip especially for them. So of course they were no were to be found. I like the area though so hiked around and explored a little. A group of 6 or 7 crows flew over so I started whaling away on my crow call that I usually carry while bird hunting. The black b#$terds were swarming the trees I was standing by so I knocked a couple off before they headed out. Kept on hiking and found a grow op tucked into some trees. Got pretty hungry and headed back out of my ravine for some lunch, and to phone the cops and let them know about the grow op. I didn't find Grouse in any of my little pockets until I got quite a bit of elevation under me, and figured the heat or the heat and food sources were working against me down low. Wound up flushing five grouse today 4 blue and one ruffed, but only managed to take one, they always know the flight path which you can't get a shot off at:oops:

good work on the crows - they are a blight on the rest of the animal world - I admire their cunning and brains but always give them a 12 gauge salute to keep them thinking
