Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy rent or borrow some snow goose decoys.
if you have any in the back of your shed that just don't get used anymore, or would like to get rid of some let me know. they can be in any condition, I don't mind fixing and painting them. I am also looking for 4 to 6 full body goose decoys.
thanks a lot.

John.

Pretty simple, you get some cloroplast (corogated plastic sheeting) from home depot, rona, lowes etc, cut out the goose shape, apply some stakes (welding rod cut in 1/2, 2 per), a little paint, and voila!

I'll post some pics tonight and see how many of may patterns are digital

this'll get you started

For snow paint the bill pink, and put a black slash for the wing tips. Canada's, brown and black, and grab a can of kylong khaki camo and mist the bottom

I think you get 16 or 19 birds to a sheet,

Also, look around the web and find pictures of birds or other dekes and blow them up, super simple! You can have a silly spread pretty quick.

If you go this route let me know and I'll post up a few tips

John, if you look in the shack you'll find in the old hanger cupboard at the bottom some sillouettes of brant that used to originally be snow geese. They will work as a pattern if your making snow sillys and if you want Canadas just make the neck a tad longer. Also, you (or Jeff too if you're reading this Jeff) are welcome to use the Canada shells and full bodies on the weekend if you want.

There's 4 or 5 doz. snow shells and windsocks in the shack you can use if you want. To avoid your silos disappearing when the birds are directly overhead set the stake into the mud at a slope away from the direction the birds are most likely to come.

they were both really great guys to be around and hunt with. famous and wealthy, yet really down to earth and very polite. we had a lot of fun. they came up two years in a row. I have a pic of pat under one of the big decoys i should have posted as well.

the idea was to lay under them and use them for blinds. we tried them using legs but we were visible and ended taking the legs off and laying under them. we had holes cut in the fronts and sides so we could see.
