I tagged a nice 3x3 whitetail (actually a larger deer than a 4x4 my wife got last year) with my crossbow from about 14 yards away. It was my first with a bow, and I was tickled pink with it. I'm officially addicted now. :D

Definatly. I managed to spend 6 great days in the alpine chasing bucks in early Sept. Had several great weeks chasing immature bull moose, Spend a bunch of time chasing bucks in Region 8. Passed up some small bucks, saw some great country. Ended up not getting out for goat, but maybe next year.
Oh ya, and I took this guy.

I got close but she was a no-meat-in-the-freezer year for us! Next year I'll be 19 and can hunt by myself so I'll get out more. Next year!

got to full draw on a few decent bucks in the late season (damn willows:mad: ) but ended up putting a meat deer in the freezer when time was running short which is a success in my books!

Got a white tail doe with my bow. Couldn't get close enough to a buck for a clear shot.

Zilcho but if I really wanted a bear I would have tried harder. Deer have eluded me so far but have had a rifle in my hands most of the time.

Myself and my 2 hunting partners managed to take 3 whitetail does and 2 small whitetail bucks and one huge muley buck 5x4 in the late bow season in the okanagan. We tend to try to save our tags for the bow season as we all enjoy harvesting deer with the bow. Here is my brothers last minute buck taken with the crossbow.

Hunted every chance that I could. Only took my bow - newest and bestest toy (5 yrs)

Results? Bupkis, zilch, epis, nada, you get the idea.

I had some great days in the bush and do not regret my results for this year. Although I am looking forward to next season with great anticipation. Yup!

Wow, awesome pictures. And the other sucessful hunters without photos, where are they? :) I did manage to arrow a nice 4x4 mulie that was measured at 144" from a tree stand and passed on another 4x4 mulie that would have gone 110-115". I found the late bow season very tough with little buck movement. Oh well, there's couger and wolves to hunt next.

Kirby, nice buck. What did he score? Just out of curiosity, your picture has BOWZONE labelled on the bottom. Does that mean your picture belongs to them once you submit it? Personally I have a few P&Y trophies and I won't submit the pictures to any site that labels them with their logo. If you go to other websites such as Hoyt, their photos that were submitted and displayed does't have the Hoyt logo on it. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Timbow, he taped out at 183" and change gross, and netted 178 7/8. The reason Bowzone appears at the bottom is I have it linked to their gallery, just like when pictures are hosted here. I do have photobucket account, that doesn't do the water mark, just haven't bothered posting pics there. Kinda advertisment for the site.

Got my bear again this fall. Didn't buy a tag for deer this year. Guided a fella from Washington to a nice moose with a longbow. Good year so far for me.

got a doe and tagged a spike from 8 feet in the last hour of the season, just couldn't hold out any longer.

I spent my late bowhunting trying for a nice buck that was in the area. The net, net is I have nothing to flavour the tatters.

I had a great time trying but no luck. It was my first year using a bow and it was definetly weird switching from a rifle to a bow. I would sit down to watch a spot and then realize I was bow hunting and the 100 yard shot I was thinking about wasn't going to work with my 50# recurve:grin: . Once I mentally switched and realized twenty yards was my max range I started to realize how hard this bow hunting really is! I have a nice little range so I can practice all winter and get ready for spring bear!

 Hey mcrae , That was a great post and well presented the "shock adjustment factor". Hang in there with your bow , As your confidence picks up it gets better and better each time you go out there .
 Good on you for adopting a practice regime right away and I recommend attending 3-d shoots . Your patience and attitude will place you in good stead in your bowhunting adventure . Good Luck

I'm getting back into archery, but my brother's been in it for a long time, he shot a nice 3 point this year after 3 or 4 years of trying to get one with his bow. He was so excited after the shot he was just shaking. Nice deer too.

 No luck this year ! Threw an arrow at a nice mulie at 40 yard up hill and of course forgot all the rules of shooting uphill so went over his back. . Ah but there is always spring bear just a few months away.
