Unable to update

I have been trying to bring my post of June 15 "Katadyn Water Purifier for sale" back to the top and I am having no luck.

I have been unable to bump anything in the 4sale section for months now. Doesn't matter how long I wait, or how hard I try. When I make the post; I get returned to the thread and I see my post. If I refresh the thread, my post is gone.

I had the same trouble. Marc said it may have had something to do with posting a reply from a different IP address than the one you used to post the ad in the first place. That then puts the "reply" in the queue for "moderator approval".

I have also found that if you don't ask for "moderator approval", it probably won't happen...they are busy guys.

For some reason the software occasionally requires the bump to be moderated. With the site so popular lately us mods don't always catch the ones that give you guys grief. From here on in, if we miss one by all means send me or any of the other mods of that particular section a PM and we'll look into it ASAP. I'm going to have a look see now and see if others have been missed. Sorry Gang!!

OK I went and did a whole slew that must have got missed. Let me know if it happens again.

For some reason the software occasionally requires the bump to be moderated.

It's not "occasionally" as far as I can tell -- it's 100% of the time in the 4sale forums (for me, anyway). Marc thought it might be the IP thing with me too, but I verified, it i most certainly is not; if I log out, clear cookies, clear cache, etc, and log back in, I get the identical problem. I'm also on an IP that only changes about once every few months. I'd bet that it's a permission setting somewhere, or possibly a customization to the board software gone awry.
