I work in the lake Cowichan area. I have not seen any grouse chicks yet this year. I was woundering if anyone has seen any yet?

saw one on the main highway between cowichan and duncan a month ago or so. i have been driving that same road almost everyday and i have only seen a few deer and the one grouse but not a single bear. the 37's on the truck are really loud but oh well

Saw a hen and about 7 or 8 teeny chicks just yesterday...:-D

No grouse but lots of quail chicks, back to ten days ago.

I have seen heaps of grouse, 10 - 20, but only a few chicks. But that's a record for on the island!! I think all this dry weather is doing good to the grouse.

I seen a bunch of Grouse up Chilliwack River valley way but no chicks.

i havent seen any chicks but i have seen lots of adults and can hear them thumping everywhere i go

I saw some for the first time in my life just this past weekend. One chick only though with that particular hen. It was a ruffed grouse.

Didn't see any the last time I was out but heard a ton of blues calling up evergreens.

none here yet, the roosters are still druming and the hens play hard to get!

No chicks yet,there's usually a couple of broods on our place.The cocks are still drumming,one is bashing in to his reflection in our downstairs windows at 6:00AM every morning!I'll get even with him in September. Gunner

no chicks yet- been a sunny spring so far so hopefully all the eggs will hatch and itll be a great grouse hunting year!!

I saw some grouse chicks today out by muchalot lake, this warm weather is a godsend for them. Hopefully see lots in the fall.

Saw a hen with about 10 small chicks four days ago.
I have been seeing good numbers of grouse up our way all spring.
Also seeing lots of fawns, young ducks and eagles.

Haven't seen any grouse chicks yet...but Calvin and I rescued this little squab from the middle of a fairly busy FSR.

He shoud be quite tasty come Aug 1:wink:.

Yup, saw a nice grouse and a large number of chicks (just beginning to fly) on Maple Mountain (near Crofton) on the weekend. The hen was doing the whole injured bird thing while the chicks scattered in all directions.

Also saw several does and this year's fawns - some very little still, others a fair bit bigger.

Nice to see all the little ones, even it it's a no hunting area.

I've seen them this year up hiking In Manning and up in the Chilliwack Valley.
