A some of you know I had all of my hunting stuff stolen out of my truck a couple of weeks back. I know I know I was stupid for putting it out there the night before, believe me the wife has informed me of that more than once.:redface: That being said I have had a positive experience with the insurance company. Here is my new set up, tell me what you think. Pics will follow once everything comes in, I can't wait to shoot it all set up. I did shoot one at the dealer and loved it.

So how is all that fancy wheels and shit much different than aiming one of them fandangled high-powered scoped out ticked out firearms? Seems like too easy Stevie! Can you still hunt in the bow only season with that set up? ;-)

Sweet!

Steve, that setup should drop an animal or 10. Well done, I can't wait to see it at a 3D shoot.

I'll probably be at the Malahat shoot on the weekend but it won't be set up yet. Maybe the next one. I still have to wait for all the parts to come in. I'll be shooting Dan's Hunting rig that day.
Steve.

Dan should have lent you his target rig seeing as how he doesn't shoot it any more.:razz::razz:

to many spider webs on it, the wheels are proably seized up from lack of use, the fiber optics in the sight don't even light up any more, the drop away rest doesn't even come up. Can't find that release thingy.

Well I finally picked up all of the accessories today. So I went up to Bucky's in Duncan and Richard set it up for me. I got to shoot it a few times there and then I came home to let some fly. I roughly sighted in my 20 and 30 yrd pins. It shoot like a dream. I'll head of tomorrow and sight in the other pins. I might need to fine tune the others but I don't think so it was grouping pretty well. AS I'm getting used to the whole new set up I figured I might as well Change how I align the sight. I have always Centered the pin in the peep because I learned on a rectangular sight window. Now I am trying centering on the round sight ring and then putting the appropriate pin on the target. New to get used to but I think it will improve accuracy a bit. Here are some pics.

if you are grouping well I suspect you dont have that much to change .... I suspect tho that your peep is large enough to drive a truck through whitch makes it harder to center on the housing .... Might I suggest that you get a smaller peep to "learn upon" then switch back to a larger peep for hunting (I assume you use a larger peep to allow more light for hunting)

I see that you have the glow ring on the housing .... try using a flo colour sticker to help train you as well

just a suggestion .. take it for whats its worth

Nice Rig

Thank you for the tips. I do use the larger peep for hunting. That way its set up right now the housing centers right in the peep so I'm not sure if changing to smaller will still fit. Please let me know. Will the Flo colour help more than the glo ring?
Steve.
ps Any input is appreciated

a glo ring is not as easy to see as say a Flo orange ring during daylight ... withthe flo orange your subconscience will want to center the sight ring with the edge of the of the peep ... or if you go with a slightly smaller peep you wont see the orange at all if you are perfectly centered and anchored ... if you are off slightly you will see it and the theory is that your sub-conscience will correct that

with a large peep .. if you can see the edge of the sight ring .. I am willing to bet that you are not perfectly centered each time ... if you go smaller peep you shouldnt be able to see any of the ring ... when you do you know your shot will be off ... this will tighten your groups imensly

Thank you. I see what I can get to change that to Flo Orange.

dont need to be flo orange ... just any day-glo type color would work ... whatever you can see the best ....

I've used a white base coat of nail polish and then a top coat of flo orange on a sight that had no glo ring on it. Worked very well and was highly visible.

One thing tho'......be sure to use very small brushes when painting the ring. Trim them if you have to.

you can buy stickers that will fit the trophy ridge sights so painting not required

I guess that it woudl be wrong to say that I use Nail polish on my Bow ...

To water/weather proof my sight tape

Man i am so glad I am married and just get my wife to buy clear nail polish for me
