It was about 5 and a half feet, maybe six if you stretched

Too big, had to be an eagle. And what I can't figure out is what it was doing. This was in the middle of a lake, 60y from shore, no tracks, no blood, no hair, no fur, nothing. Just BAM, dropped out of the sky and walked to shore...weird

To me, it looks like a Grouse was walking. There was light snow on the surface. An Owl came in and took the Grouse.
Wind took the light snow away and left the compacted tracks and hit location.

Very cool picture !

I beg to differ. I have seen some grey owls and great horned owls that are comparable to an eagle in size. It looks like something had been walking along and this "bird of prey" swooped down and grabbed this thing in it's talons and brought it up to it's nest or just to a branch to munch on it there. You wouln't find blood or fur/feathers (especially if there was any wind) because owls and eagles will usually snatch and go with their prey because they are vulnerable on the ground and they would risk losing it to a another predator. Sometimes their prey is still alive when brought up to a tree.
