I am hoping to shoot some rabbits before bear season and I have always wanted to try them, hoping they taste good.

They are real good!! Cook them with your favourite recipe for chicken. If its an older or larger one it may be chewier so slow cook it or make a stew.

When I was a kid my mom used to make rabbit pie.
Cook the rabbit in water with a little salt and some chopped onion. Not a lot of water just enough to simmer until you can pick all the meat off the bones.
In another pot cook up a mess of potatoes, drain and mash them with some butter salt and pepper.
Cut the rabbit meat up and add it to the mashed potatoes with poultry seasoning to your liking and some chopped onions.
Put the whole mess in a pie shell and bake it in the oven. This is delicious hot out of the oven and really good cold.

I was just about to start a thread like this. I shot a rabbit on sunday! I cooked it like i cook my grouse. Fry it with bacon in a frying pan. Its simple and tastes great

First you skin it out being careful not to get too much fur on the meat. Then you cut out all the nice edible portions and soak them italian dressing and whiskey for two hours then you take the whole works and throw it in the f---king garbage because we shouldn't eat rodents. Unless your from Quebec or the recession is hitting you hard there are better things to eat.

I Q'd a good sized bunny last weekend - it was about 3 lbs. Bochunk shot it when we were out looking for bears this spring.

Damned thing was tougher 'n boot leather. Next one is going inside some foil with some stuff and then is going to get done slooowly on th Q.

Or - I'll do it a la crock pot style.
