Well here we are the last weekend of the season. I hope to try and get out tommorow morn. Not alot of puddlers in the area but there is a few little divers so that is what I think that I am going to try for. CWPS left me a couple of boxes of Hevi-steel #6's so I am going to give these a go for the little buggers.
I will post pic tommorow night.

Pretty slow in the pea soup in the ladner marshes this morning, we scratched a few but if they where flying, we couldn't see them!

Went out yesterday for about an hour or so with two of my boys age 5 and 7, the older one had been out a few times and the younger one had been asking me to go, so I figured we better go before the season closed. I new the kids would have a hard time sitting still so we just walked along the ditches with the kids a ways behind me. We ended up getting three jumps, 5 wigeon on the first got a nice drake 1 shot fired, 2 mallards on the next missed completely and finally got a drake mallard on the last jump on my third shot. Was a pretty nice afternoon, sunny and the boys had good time with something to show mom when we got home.

We made it out after chores this morning. It was bluebird clear here on the mid Island. We got three drake mallards, but that was due partly to some poor shooting on our part. Hunting a new spot so it took us a couple of tries to get set up properly.

I tried to go out this morning but gave up. The fog was thick all day. I'll try again tomrrow if it isn't foggy.

Our young neighbour asked me last week if he could go hunting with me, so we dressed him up warmly and caught the dropping tide this morning for a nice little widgeon shoot in the fog.

Thats great to see a young guy out there Branthunter. Nothing beats seeing that.

This morning out where my son and I were hunting, we met a hunter with his 7 year old son. Haven't seen many Junior's on the island so far, but it was sure great to see the boy loving the outdoors!

I used to think that way too but I've been out on the bay several times and we were the only ones out there. Might have been the snow this year who knows.
