I am not an insurance agent and am likely wrong but I do believe that this would come under "collision" on your policy. If you have it you should be covered. I know in the past I have lost windshields and been covered and at least one friend of mine went a bit too fast on an icey logging road and found a tree. He was covered.
As to the other, I am too old and brain-damaged to help with puter problems. Fred

I have heard that too. I don't think you even need a lisence to travel on a FSR. I not 100% sure though.

I was told that you need to carry extra insurance when you are on the fsr,the regular just does not cut it.

If you are not using a licensed vehicle, you must have at least two million dollars liability insurance. For example if your riding a dirt bike or an ATV on the fsr roads, you need to have 2 million worth in liability insurance. I read this on a sign heading in to Cayacus Main about 3 weeks ago.

The amount of liability insurance required on FSR's is $200,000.00. The quote below is from the Forest Service Road Use Regulation. Membership in the BC Wildlife Federation provides this coverage for ATV users.

Liability insurance

12 (1) A person must not operate or cause to be operated a motor vehicle or trailer, other than a motor vehicle or trailer described by section 2 (5) of the Motor Vehicle Act, on a forest service road unless

(a) the driver, motor vehicle and trailer are insured under a valid and subsisting contract of accident insurance providing insurance against liability to third parties in the amount of at least $200 000, and

(b) the driver carries written evidence, supplied by the insurer, of the insurance referred to in paragraph (a), or a copy of that written evidence, and produces it, on demand, to a peace officer or an official.

(2) Motor vehicles operated by the government that are subject to a government self-indemnification plan are exempt from the requirements of subsection (1).
