Hi
find myself restricted in storage (living in Downtown Van) but always looking to get out of town hunting/fishing. Have purchased a 9ft pontoon boat for the summer fishing, however no room for a duck boat.
Does anyone know where I can rent a canoe for a weekend at a time? Most places I've googled rent canoes by the hour on their location, but unable to find a rent and go type outfit?

Thanks for your help,

They are great people to work with. Tell them what you are going to use it for and they'll find the right canoe for the job. Wear your PFD and good hunting.

I saw 2 guys in a canoe today (maybe you). They took a shot as we made our way in. No worries there but it got me to thinking that any of you guys who are paddling around out there, make sure you don't shoot low over the grass until you know where you are and if there is a slough or pond in the background where hunters could be.
Personally, I don't mind it if a guy paddles around, it puts up birds for the rest of us.

wish it was me....or at least wish I had the day off!! Haven't tried it (paddling) yet, but i think it'll be canoe to 'the spot' and sit still...hope you enjoyed the day out there, was a beauty!

Although I'm not a big fan of them, MEC rents all sorts of outdoor gear at OK prices...including canoes... (http://www.mec.ca/Main/content_text.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=25343743028 81708&bmUID=1228679870528)

Another option for anyone with similar storage issues:

Haven't tried it, though; ended up building a canoe since I *do* have space to store it...
