Not hunting related, but i thought it was hilarious. My brother in law has a souped up tracker and with a little egging on we got him to put on a little show mid day during our moose hunt.

I used to have a little 2 door one of those, with V bars on the front, I didn't need a turbo. Great little buggy, but that was it's undoing at my house, it became too little.

I think mine could do that without the turbo. They really can go just about anywhere. I think the light weight has a lot to do with it.

Yup, I was looking at that, and thinking - "and how was that supposed to be challenging for a Tracker?" I run mine up/down stuff like that on a regular basis when hunting - use good knobby tires, drop er in 4 low, give er a little, no problems. I don't even have locking diff's in mine.

Just watch out for big stumps/rocks in the middle of the trail, or you'll have to get someone to weld the crossmember that holds up the transmission/transfer case after you break it (ask me how I know). :)

Its just a show, not a comparison, that I can see.
I like the lift.

haha that was awesome. The wheelie is what sells the vid for me :)

Video just doesn't do angles justice, it was much steeper and looser than it looked.as He has a front locker and actually broke a cv from this climb.

actually broke a cv from this climb.THAT i'm not surprised at. Trackers are Horse-power sensitive. Next will be a Barfield.

Yep - the weak front CV's are why I opted on mine to only go with a 1 inch lift up front and only go up to 29 inch tires (LT235/75/15) and no front lockers. With that setup, I have run stuff so steep that 1st/4low, a lot of RPM, a very heavy foot, and enough nerve to keep the hammer down whent he front end gets light was required to keep from stalling out (that's actually the trail to one of my favorite hunting spots!), and almost 100,000km later, no breakage up front. But, on the other hand, I've talked to lots of guys who have done the 2 to 3 inch lift and 31/32 inch tires + lockers, and they seem to almost universally break CV's once or twice a year.

Side note boxhitch - birfields are on Samurai's, not Trackers, if I'm not mistaken?

Probably right:oops:. Who makes the hubs for Trackers Sidekicks since they went IFS ?

Yeah parts don't agree with that type of driving style, but it's fun to watch. My tracker had a 3" ifs lift with 33s with front and rear lockers. I never broke a cv, but I did crack a front axle housing, my driving style is a little less aggressive though. Here's a couple vids of my new truck. My kids are actually asleep in the back in their car seats in the first vid.

the Biggest thing that causes the breakage is hammering it in reverse and hammering it when it is turned all the way as it causes undue stress and bind issues (loose nut behinde the wheel). As long as you take this into account it really isnt a problem . We have a 1.5 lift (susp) with 31s and it has no issues and plenty of traction and power still .

you can go up to two inches without any crossmember changes to correct for cv angle but that is about the limit.

Trackers work really well and i gotta say that i sure like the heater on a cold day

If i recall Aisan hubcame on both.
Tracker and kicks have only ever come with IFS/cv's unlike the samurai which is birfield and live axle front. you can also get after market hubs but the aisan are easily up to the task.
