im a student in victoria and im looking for someone willing to teach me the basics for the purposes of bowhunting. i am just starting out in archery and dont yet have a bow, i was kinda hoping to get a better feel for it before just going out and buying a bow, i am laso trying to save as much money as i can in the process and lessons at a range are an expense i would like to avoid. so if there is somebody out there with the time and facilities i would be eternally greatfull

I also know a lot of guys who still own/shoot their first recurve. Recurves and Traditionals, and Longbows are not something that an archer parts with as they mature into the sport. They just seem to keep adding to the 'arsenal'.

So a $220 bow that is bought and used now will last you your lifetime - properly taken care of that is. Same could be said of you, as well....properly taken care of, you'll last your lifetime too.
