Having parents that didn't hunt growing up I didn't get into hunting until this last season. I'm sad thinking of all the years I could have been hunting. Does the enjoyment level ever wear off? Anyway although I didn't shoot any trophys they are special to me being my firsts in my first season. My 2 harrison blacktails, my whitetail doe draw and my spring bear. Hopefully many successful seasons to come.

Looks like you did get a couple trophy's there, and a hell of a good first season I might add. Remember, it's what you consider to be a trophy that makes it a trophy, not what someone else idea of a trophy is or any book of records. Good job

Does the enjoyment ever wear off????? For me....NOPE...in fact, I enjoy it as much, if not more now, than I did when I was much younger. When I was younger I felt the pressure to succeed. to score the "BIG" one and to "KILL" an animal. I probably missed a lot of what the outdoors was all about. Now 30 years later, I stop to smell the roses a lot more, remember the funny acting cow moose, the hawk who followed me across the field and the antics of my partner when hunting together. That is what hunting is all about to me.

I am glad I learned to hunt at an early age and did the things I did when I was single and a lot younger, like fly-in hunting trips every year, deer hunts all over BC every year, crazy, spur of the moment road trips to places we had only heard about from other hunters and buying all the gear needed to enjoy those trips. Now I relax during the hunt, enjoy what is out there and if I get an animal, it is the bonus of the trip.

Enjoy the hunt and what we get to do.

You look like you are off to a good start, neat deer post and a nice bear. Never let anybody tell you that they are not trophies.

Warning though...hunting is very addictive and so is taxidermy:eek::p;)

Cheers

Thanks guys, I don't think it will ever wear off either. I'm looking forward to my first moose hunt in november and another trip to the charlottes in february. Should be an exciting year. I am totally addicted and look forward to introducing my kids to what I've missed all these years. Maybe I'll be able to add some moose antlers to my office wall?;-)
