Man these things are fast! After picking up the dekes this morning in an unproductive new spot (a couple mallards and a flight of Canadas just out of range), I jumped two BWT out of an oxbow channel. Missed the leader with a quick snap shot (I think it was the drake) but when the new 870 came back in line I had a gift going left to right at 20 yards. Primer ignition of a 3" #2 Black Cloud--Boomsplash!

Nice bird. Those teals sure are fast, feels good to drop one. Nice gun, those wingmasters are bombproof

Most Blue Winged Teal leave the area before the opening day of the season gets around. Nice to see one with so much color so early in the season. I shot one back east about 10 years ago that had a band on it. I didn't really realize it was a BWT until I received the info back in the Mail. It was just a young bird that hadn't developed the blue on the wing.

Good going, those little buggers make for challenging shooting. I've noticed a few green wings around but haven't seen any BWT yet. Season opens next weekend over here so it should be interesting.

Still some greenwings around up here. I saw six while scouting this spot last week. I don't know much about how they migrate through yet, but it seems to me there should be more birds around. I think I've actually seen more BW's than mallards up to now. So they're on their way!

Those little guys taste every bit as good as a big, grain-feed mallard! You just need more of them! Congrats - it's all in the leading of the lil' buggers.
