I'm looking for an area to hunt grouse within 3 hours drive (give or take) from the Greater Vancouver area. Generally, I would treat this hunt as a weekend trip. If you've got specific areas you know of that are good hunting, please let know. Thanks for sharing.

Wow - just about anywhere, really. I've heard them a hell of a lot in the woods this year. It's been a while since i went, but the okanagan around penticton used to have some real monsters.

I think your best bet is to head towards Princeton or Merrit. I find there's more grouse away from the coast, although I was bear hunting this spring in Squamish and heard a lot of grouse thumping their wings. The top of the Coquihalla has a lot of grouse as well. Good Luck

i cant get any time off this year, to much going on at the mill, youll do good there, some of the locals just drive back and forth, they do very well. good luck last week of october is good for the rut and migration, make sure you take a whitetail tag they are there to.

Plenty in the Harrison area, and over the Mystery creek road to Chealis, I've seen them on the east side of Harrison that look as big as chickens!!!

Oh and Welcome to HBC

We always seem to be coming home with some grouse around here when we go hunting. Tons of nice areas to camp as well especially this time of the year. PM me if interested in more info. Rob. Merritt/Lower Nicola area

Took my son and hunting bud for a look for bears from Murray lake to the Jack Swartz road just west of Merrit. They were everywhere, we must have seen 4 or 5 dozen throughout the day, I bet I know where the won't be on Saturday. LOL
