View Full Version : camp fire ban
Does anyone know if the camp fire ban for the south part of the island has been lifted since we got those two days of rain? I'm headed out next week for the week and wondering if I should bring my chain saw or not.

The campfire ban was lifted on August 29th.

Thanks Mauser98, well that settles it, I'm bringing the chain saw along. Going to be pretty quiet telling hunting stories to myself sitting by the fire for 4 nights:|

where are ya goin Marc??
Blacktail, I'm hunting out towards Walbran main/Cayacus main for bear I still have a tag from this spring to fill. I picked up my deer tag just incase I hapen to see a deer. I've got a better chance of seeing a bear then a deer in that area.
I plan on doing a bit of ditch chicken/scouting for the first 3 days with the 12 gauge and changing up to the 300 win mag for Sat/Sun. I'm sure I'll see deer and bear while out grouse hunting but that's how it always is. If you're going to be out and about in that area fire me off a PM.

One of the beautiful things about living in Rupert is that when there is a Province wide camp fire ban, Rupert is the only place not included.
You should always take your Saw anyway Marc. You never know when you might need it to remove an obstacle blocking your way out. Fred

Hey Fred, I've thought about that actually, what would I do if a tree fell across the road. I've got a hatchet but can you imagine trying to cut throught a 2 foot in diameter or larger tree with that? I'm planing on getting off the beaten path so if anything like that would hapen I probably wouldn't get noticed for a while.

It is still FIRE SEASON till at least the middle of October--so even though the campfire ban has been lifted- -care must be taken with fires, chain saws, etc ;-)
