I did an open search on the forums for this topic, but to no avail. Also asked a local gun store and my PAL and RPAL instructor and it was suggested I come here.

Anyone out there know of a place in vancouver that offers the CORE course? I've heard of silvercore in surrey, and found this document:http://www.bcwf.bc.ca/documents/s=66/bcw1119484027064/examinerlist.pdf

Of the two vancouver instructors, which would you recommend? Marshall Lowen or Mike Maynard?

Thanks,
H Wally

I found this list of guys on the British Columbia Wildlife Federation website and they all offer the C.O.R.E. course. Just so you have a bit more choice instead of only 2 guys. :

Thanks for your help everyone - took the CORE course with Marshal Lowen in Vancouver - He's a great guy and the course was quite informative.

I've got another question for you guys too:

I mailed my proof of completion to the government agents office... how long before I get a hunter's card back? (I could have driven to maple ridge if I had stayed in Vancouver, but I had to leave right when I got my proof of completion and am now a long way away from any agents office)

list for all of B.C.
That list was current up to 2006, but several more have taken the examiners' qualification course since then, including myself in Princeton, and the updated list should be available soon. I have one full course starting tomorrow, which is full, and another starting on Sept 29 which is rapidly filling up.

You might suggest to them to update the list soon I have really noticed an increase in the interest in getting the program by a lot of people. One of the fellas I work with does the instruction he said it has been one of the busiest summers he has seen in a long time. Good to see more people coming on board and getting into hunting/shooting sports. I had to get him to give the course to my daughter and son-in-law at his home as there were no open courses around here. Don't work yourself too hard thanks for your time and interest in helping others.
