No,I was out doing drags with them, they were doing 5km drags without any troubles or running things that they were not suppose to, This was the longest drag that i have let them go on and i am sure proud of them! they are doing great, can't wait till some snow and the cat season to start!

Definatly A different kind of hunting, looks interesting though. What do you hunt with the hounds , just Cougers , or do you use them for bears and small game too??

I will be using these dogs for cougar and bobcat only. No bears I can find them on my own!

Cougars!!! at my age you must be talking about the 4 legged kind with fur:roll::shock::roll: and I hear is excellent table fair. If you ever get lonely and need some help, you know where to find me. Cool video they look excited, more excited than the day we bumped into each other on the hills!!!

they look good Mike . are you not gonna run them on racoons?
as for running them on bears or cats or racoons, I figure you can do both it just takes more time to train the hounds to discriminate for desired scent. I guess i want my dogs to do it all  (doesnt mean they will, just means i want them to ;-) )

I was in the same situation as you, I was only gonna use my hounds for cat . but when last cat season was cut short for me I came to the conclusion that I enjoy haveing my hounds treeing game period . my hounds allready have a big hate for cats and not a day goes by that i dont have to bring them in because one of the farm cats sends them over the edge . Hell a cat in the field across the road sends them howling lol. so i would have to say it is a prefered species but i still want them to find what ever i decide to chase.

If you free cast you might end up with a grab bag at the end of the race but if you drop them on a track they should be able to follow with tunnel vision and not split track .

the hounds got this...local prey species...this morning , They sniffed around the coop then followed it around the barn and wouldnt stop barking and making a fuss till i went and flipped the roofing tin and wood over , they sure are alot of fun .

as you can see this crosstraining hound thing is really working out for us
LOL! http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=829
