RIFLE INSERTS FOR RIMFIRE CARTRIDGES

TECHNICAL NOTES

Rimfire inserts are available for firing 22LR and 22 Mag cartridges in centerfire rifles. We machine 22 rimfire barrels to the outside dimension of a rifle cartridge, and fabricate a centerfire to rimfire plug which enables the centerfire rifle firing pin to fire the rimfire cartridge! These inserts are extremely useful for indoor practice and teaching beginners to shoot. They are useful for taking small game at reasonable ranges (Remember the insert barrel is only one to to two inches long).

The rimfire inserts are made to the size of the rifle cartridge with bullet. They weigh very little and are convenient to carry in the field. After firing, the empty insert is removed by your rifle's extractor and your big game rifle is back in action!

WE HAVE 22LR AND 22 MAG INSERTS IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING POPULAR CALIBERS:
243 Win. 300 Win Mag
25-06 300 H & H
30-06 Springfield 7.65 Argentine
308 Win 7mm Rem. Mag
30-30 Any Caliber 24 and up!

Hundreds of other calibers are available! We specialize in foreign, antique and wildcat calibers-all you have to do is send us a fired unsized cast or chamber casting for an exact match to your rifle. For these special orders, please allow 8-12 weeks for delivery.

Chamber adapters use the rifling in your firearm to stabilize the bullet. They are excellent tools for target practice and for downing small game, eliminating unnecessary meat destruction and the recoil of full power cartridges. Our adapters are made for rifles and, where indicated by the asterisk (*), the Thompson Contender. Adapters for the Thompson Contender ONLY are indicated by "TC" (they cannot be made with offset firing pin plug).

I have seen these type things before but I'm curious. How would a .22 travel down a larger bore such as .30cal. I think the one's I've seen at Italian sport were for 30 cal. and took a small calibre handgun round. I am very interested just unsure as to how the small round would effect the bore on my rifle. Thanks steeleco

steeleco,

They come in different lengths.

6" LENGTH cost about $50.00 US and $7.00 shipping.

10" LENGTH ---$60.00

14" LENGTH ---$70.00

The .22 would not ever touch the inside of your barrel or would any other caliber. Unless you tried to shoot ".22 Shot" out of it.

CUSTOM LENGTHS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE!

are they accurate enough to shoot the heads off grouse up to say,40 or 50 feet?

The ones that shoot .22 ot of the larger bore:

A: Will be as accurate as a 2" pistol barrel
B: Will "Ring" the throat of your rifle
C: will be really loud.

I have made hundreds of inserts to shoot .32ACP in .30 calibre rifles and would recommend them to anyone, however, if you have a rifle calibrev that doesn't have a companion pistol calibre, look-at Alex Auxillary cartridges as they have Lead"Caps" that meet your bore diameter and are deadly.

A company in Oshawa Ontario went bankrupt when they were sued by customers who shot .22 out of 7mm mag and .300 win. mag because the pressure drop from the cartridge to atmosphere caused the speed of the gas particals to increase dramatically causing "Gas cutting" in the rifles throat, ringing barrels with standard velocity, .22 LR. It's a simple manipulation of the gas laws.

A .30-calibre Rifle, with a .32 ACP insert is potentially as accurate as the rifle itself. What calibre is your rifle?

Most jacketed .32 ACP ammo has a diameter of .309-.310. The insert acts just like the chamber of a revolver cylinder. In a .30-06, your groove diameter is .308-.309. The regular .30-06 operates at 50,000 psi, the .32ACP is probably operating at 15-25,000psi tops,so it just goes through the insert and engages your rifling. If it were to hurt your rifling, why would there still be revolvers? >001-.002" may cause pressure problems@ 50,000 psi but any pressure change from the diameter change behind the 71-grain .32 bullet is inconsequential in a rifle designed for 50,00 lbs.
