Does anybody use reflector ovens when camping?

I made one when I was a kid and used it a lot to cook by the fire. I cooked biscuits and bread and used it to cook chicken and burgers too.

I was thinking of making another one for this summer. I looked at a lot of designs, but this one looks like what I made and comes completely apart for storage.

Once you use it you'll wonder why you never had one before. You just put them in front of a fire and you're baking or cooking. You can cook just about anything in them. Fresh biscuits mmm.........

I'm going to find some old cookie trays at the Sally Anne and use them to make one. You can make a temporary one by lining a cardboard box with foil.

Glad I could help. Google "reflector ovens" and you'll find a lot more designs to give your hubby some more ideas.

Easy to make out of a Mylar Survival blanket and a few sticks. Good for drying boots too (though they are stilll kind of tough on the teeth)
