hi, I will be doing my non-restricted and restricted courese in march. I have been given a winchster 69A .22lr bolt action that is in great condtion but it is missing the bolt assembly. i am woundering if its legal for me to buy the bolt assebly or if I have to wait till I have my licence.

The "firearm" is usually the receiver/action. You need a PAL to posess a stripped action/reciever, but no PAL for the rest of it.
You don't need a PAL for scope, barrel, stock, sights, bolt, trigger group, magazine etc.

Well in that case I need to find a bolt assebly for a winchster 69A .22lr.

Looks like the two day gun show is March 8 and 9 this year.
That'll be your best chance.
