Here is my hunt camp set up Dec 2005 and November 2006 It's not the biggest camper but it's easy to heat and it's enough that the wife feels secure enough to come out with me during the hunting season. She stays in the camper and reads or goes outside and makes a fire while I go for a walk with my rifle.

This is an old forestry tent that I use, need the tarps for rain proofing and insulation but at 14x18 there is lots of room.http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj230/tomahawktom/DeerHunt06008.jpg[/QUOTE]

All nice set ups ..Tee pee never thought of that, the glow stick on the tree to giude the late comers to the camp, works well.

Slumberqueen Import... decent unit!!

I really like the teepee and thought about buying one, but it looked like a pain for one person to set up... never having done it, I could be wrong.

I normally camp just me and my dog, so ease of set up is a big consideration. I have a 6 man dome and even that takes some doing for me.
I think the dog has a good laugh every time he watches me running around trying to set it up. One of these days, I'm going to get it right the first time.

Yeah it is a challenge setting it up with one or even 2 people but it is possible.

Heres my shelter, it was sold as a pop-up greenhouse, I call it the "igloo". Its one piece, fits in a large hockey bag, sets up in 2 minutes, sleeps 3 with a wood stove!

I love my Cabela's eight man dome. Until that one night every early October when it snows a foot, the tarps come crashing down and the tent lands on top of me.

Now for October and later hunts its a wall tent with a wood stove. Cozy!

I bought a book about Tipi camping and how to make them many years ago, but never got around to doing it. I think the hassle of hauling long poles was the problem. It looked like it would be roomy and comfortable once you were set up.

If I have a truck/quad to haul camp. It's a 14x14 Eena that my Dad passed down to me. Awesome tent, sleeps 4 with a woodstove.

If I am carrying my camp on my back it's a 2 man Integral Designs MK III.

We camped in a "whelan tent" style tarp setup when I was a kid. It's like cutting one side of a wall tent so it rolls up and then propping this up with poles. The outside fire is now exposed, and you can sleep 5 or 6 on the ground, looking out at the fire.Slept on the old spruce branches behind my uncles as they sat up drinking and telling lies half the night. Ha Ha!

I walk around the bush till midnight looking for nice spruce branches, lay them down on the ground for a bed, goto sleep.

Ha, nah. My mom and step dad have a 20' trailer, my grandparents have a 30' trailer or something like that..

When I'm with my dad we go old school and tent it.

To see some "Whelan" or Baker tents, try this link. Scroll down and see the lightweight camo ones too. We had the old canvas in the 50's.

Say Buck--I could have sworn I saw this camp crammed with every kind of junk just outside Prince George. Even said hi from my red truck. One was hanging in a fly-proof shelter. See our PG red trees? They're coming to a town near you! LOL LOL

At the end of the day I just drag my skinny wrinkled a$$ to our 24' trailer, put on the furnace, the coffee maker, lie down to contemplate the day in all its glory, have a nap, then, if really ambitious make supper, or have better off fishing or martyonthe water make it. (God chose to give me two of the nicest sons a man could ask for)
Nice thing about a trailer is that you have all the comforts and can be in your hunting spot within about 20 minutes.
Life is good.

We camp a huge "deluxe walltent™" with 3 guys in the tent including myself. We also got a ford f350 with timberline camper with 2 guys in that. We drive the tracker and samarai and we have a trailer with aluminum boat with small motor.

Jeeze you guys it sounds like everyone takes a city with them. No one else here sleeps in the truck, pours cereal straight from the box into their mouth then pours the milk in lol? I don't think I've ever been hunting in a fancy rig, wouldn't mind though lol. Plus I guess coming back to the cabin in the boat having a big fire and firing a movie in isn't all that uncomfortable... Sucks having to eat prawns and crab all the time though ;-)

Here's a shot of my tent's interior. There's a "mud room" out the other end to change in. While I'm awake I run a catalytic heater meant for indoor use, but I keep a carbon monox. detector in there just to be safe.

There was a time 115 that I did the same, spent 2 weeks up in the Clisbacko(?) and it was close to =25 below at the nearest weather station and we were sleeping in the canopy of my brothers truck on a chunk of plywood across the box rails. He had his german short hairered pointer with us and I woke about 2 am and she was fully inside my sleeping bag head first and shivering to beat the band. The camp stove we had didn't work so we ate frozen food that our wives had cooked ahead of time, not fun. Too old for that now, need some comfort to some degree so I have the nergy to tackle the hunting the next day.

I enjoy a good camper and a few amenities on hunting trips, but as for strictly camping, I enjoy going "Survivorman".

Some times I think I should have my own show...

usually sleep in the truck and load what we need in the truck. camp fires do the trick for food. Its nice to get away from home and just spend some time in the bush.

Have been using a 24' trailer, but a friend just gave me an old camperette with furnace and stove in it, so I'll probably be using that this season once I get it set up to sleep 3. I'l rig it up on my utility trailer so my little Blazer will pull it into the area we hunt.
Don't want Martyonthewater or Betterofffishing to catch cold and not be able to pack out their old man's game for him. ;-)>
