So I'm Cooking a Pork roast in the crock pot, What does the auto shift position on the dial do? I have Low and High figured out but auto shift? Any crock pot advise would be appreciated. Moosin

I'm lost - mine has 2 settings - High and Low. Google the instruction booklet if all else fails. ;)

It means it will heat up to a temp. then shut down, then heat up again. Just like your oven.

Mine works on time, it has a 2, 4, 6 and 8 hour settings. I find most roasts turn out real well on the 4 hour setting. Sorry I can't be more help.

Auto Shift? I was sure that it meant the pot would start out high for a time and then drop to low for the balance of the cooking time.....

Auto shift means you don't need a clutch.

Hi
Just noticed this thread or I'd have spoken up sooner. Auto-shift usually means the slow-cooker will start on high (usually 2hrs) then shift to low for the rest of the cooking time. An absolutely great idea!
