I do believe I saw this buck on the first morn of our hunt, but it was a blizzard out and I couldnt get a good look at him. I watched him chasing does around and sparring with another smaller buck. I went back the next morn, and spotted him again, but he was heading for cover well before shooting light. He dropped into a huge coulee, (like a mile across). I made my way over to where I last saw him, I too dropped into the coulee about half way down to a good glassing point, and out of the wind. After about 20 minutes of glassing I spotted him tending a doe at about 600 yards. I watched him for about an hour, in that time another buck came and tried to steal his doe, but he ran it off. He and the doe dropped into the thick brush and dissapeared from sight. It was a long shot, but I figured Id hike down and make my way to where I last saw him. I was within 50 yards of where I last saw him, the brush was about 15 feet tall, and I heard him burst out the other side. I ran to where I might catch him in a window, he was there but took off before I could scope him. I ran again, as he only had so much cover. This happened 3 times, as he bolted across a little open patch I nailed him on the run at 100 yards. Its not the monster dream whitey I went to sask. for, but it was a "great hunt", and in the next 5 days I didnt really see a better buck that I could of shot!

Ya it was dam cold, -25 all week!
Not sure what region of sask we were in but it was the south east corner!
He had a broken G-3 , but I knew that before I shot em, his main beams are this best feature.
I pounded some reg. 3 spots for the last 3 days, but to no avail. Im usually the king of finding a buck on dec.10, Ive done it quit a few times, but not this year. Not like I needed another deer anyway!
Another great season has come and gone! :-D

Congrats again Mark!

Yep, it's all about the hunt not the buck. We could have all taken some huge bucks from the truck but it wouldn't have been near as fun (if we had seen any:roll:).
It wasn't the -25 temps that was hard to take......it was those howling winds for 4 1/2 straight days:???:. Now I know why everyone "used" to live in Sask................

Hey, I thought you were hunting in Sask:confused:............ Where's your bright lid??
