Benelli Super black eagle 2 ,quick point ,reliable , not a lot of maintenance ,most of the outfitters I have been too use them ,but they have more recoil than the A 400 Beretta which is also a fine gun ,

If money is not an object Benellis would be my first choice.
Otherwise Remington, Mossberg and Stoeger.
These days even the cheapest Turkish semis don't jam.
I'd say that semi shotgun actions have been perfected by most manufacturers and they haven't changed much in a long time.

Benelli Super Vinci. The thing is smooth, reliable, and consistant.

The brand matters little, the fit matters a great deal. Your better quality Turkish are very good, with O/Us it's a different story.

I took some Canada's last fall with a 1950's vintage Browning A5, Federal 2&3/4 inch #4 steel shot, 1&1/16oz load. Heavier load than that would have prolly knocked me outa the canoe lol.

I got a crazy deal on a new browning A5. A few adjustments and it fits me well so that is what I run. No complaints.

But I am curious about the last part. Now, I am not saying that a Turkish O/I is nicely finished and they weigh a lot but I have never had a problem with mine. Now to be clear, I have a proper trap gun but I have got a Turkish O/U to hunt out my kayak, I wanted to extract the shells rather then send them flying into the water and litter. That gun has been exposed to the marsh, salt water, snow storms, rain, never a hiccup. Weighs a ton but it stays in the kayak on a cart so meh. I wouldn't want to run a trap course with it but for a hunting rig that could literally suffer a boating accident I am impresses.

Browning Maxus are nice to shoot and point well for me. I also have a Beretta 391 that I like but its a 3",Its all about fit but most of the guns have shims for the stocks to help with that now.

Shot Maxus 2, SX4, SBE3. My buddies shoot A400. All are good.

Go to the store and try the fit for yourself.

Mulehahn , you answered that point much better than I could. On Shotgun Forum, they mention some Turkish O/U wearing out when used in competition.

I'm curious about the canoe. I built a cedar strip.
