Check both of these links out, they work well and if in doubt head to your local archery store and tug on a few bows. Some people have longer/shorter draws depending on there body configuration. Good luck.

This should probably be in bowhunting, or bow tuning and technique for others wondering the same question to enjoy.

Would a mod mind moving it? ;)

Take something similar to an arrow (Straight Stick etc). Put it between your pecs. Stick your arms straight out in front of you along the "arrow". Mark where the tip of your middle finger ends. Measure the length of the "arrow" from the end that was on your chest to the mark. This will give you a pretty good estimate of your draw length. Hope this explanation helps!

since i have no clue where Gabriola Island is .... I am gonna make a genaric remark .....

Go to the nearest archery shop ....Not Walmart or CDN Tire .... and get fitted ....

In most cases however ... the above method works pretty close ...except I have heard of it measured to the corner of yer mouth ...not your chin .... but that is just a ball park anyway

another is measure finger tip to finger tip in inches ....most people its your height as well ... and divide by 2.53 ... that should get ya close .
for instance my tip to tip is 71.5 ...my draw lenth on my bow is 28 inches with a 1/4 inch loop added ...71.5 divided by 2.53 = 28.26 inches ......

this is just a guideline however for the average shaped person ....
