Check out this thread. If the score holds up for the 60 days this may be the first 300 incher to fall in the last 25 or so years. Way to go for the kid and the dad.

unbelievable.

I think its dreams like that buck that keep trophy hunters going.
I know that killing 160 class deer isnt super hard, or easy for that matter, but its seeing crankers like this, and the odd 190+ after the season is closed  that keeps me going. Im sure im not alone :D

That buck is straight off the Kings calendar!!! Simply amazing! We can all dream one day we will get our turn!
I just got word from a buddy in 100 mile, that a buddy has slammed an absolute monster, every hunter in 2 towns that has seen it says its the biggest buck they've ever seen! (this hunter is purely a meat hunter) yes im trying to get pics!

I passed one up bigger than that, guess I misjudged it, hell I see them all the time.........

In my dreams....

Must to be nice to be young and lucky, smokin buck, just show you that you never know when its going to happen, biggest buck in 30 years and probably never ever seen by human eye's before. Considering it was colorado and I'm sure that country has been hunted hard by mulie fanatics with a fine tooth comb.

This ALWAYS pisses me off.
NEW HUNTER SHOOTS MONSTER DEER or 10 YEAR OLD TAKES A NEW STATE RECORD or FIRST TIME HUNTER TAKES ONE FOR THE BOOK.

Sure Im happy they got a deer but why not me ??? I hunt alot (when the wife lets me) and in 22 years of hunting I have only seen 3 deer that would be monsters. You know, mule deer 220+ non-typical and 195+ typical whitetail 185+ typical. I was very lucky (skilled also) to see them. Deer like the ones Ive seen dont make many mistakes and disappear FAST or don't give a clear or even marginal shot.

WHY NOT MEEEEEEEEEE ?

New info on this buck has it grossing 274. If the strong side was matched it would have easily surpassed the 300 inch mark. I'm willing to bet this will still be the biggest buck killed in 2007. Last year, BC produced a 275 net buck, it could do it again, but I don't think with these kind of rut conditions it will happen this year.

Mark posted them up this past spring I believe. The search feature might turn the pic up. I've got a pic of it somewhere on my hard drive. I'll have to look for it. Ranks as the 5th largest ever killed in the province.

I guess the 274 info wasn't correct. Here's what the kid's dad has to say. "Roger selner renouned B&C scorer came down to My house and scored my son's buck it has an official green score, and will be on his tour. 307 7/8" it is the largest Mule deer taken by a hunter in 35 yrs. Roger will do the offical score to put it in the books at the Denver ISE show Jan 2008. We belive it is the largest ever taken by a youth. "
Here are some better pics of the giant. Guy Eastman is holding it.
