After taking yesterday off and getting into the snows big time with Michel, I got home long enough to change out the rigs and head to Vancouver Island for the long weekend with my inlaws.

THis will be brief as I'm on a borrowed computer, more next week.

Well we just got off the water and man it was starting to get a little scary out there. We even had a search plane flying over the Bay. We wonder if someone called search and rescue on us as we were trying to make our way across.

I'm not going to take Ian.F's fire by telling the days events but I'll post this picture of our success.

Not stealing any fire Marc!

It was great to shoot with you and glad we made it back safe and sound.

More tuesday, time to rest and dry out!

Oh, you can't tell from this pic, but it went from nice to snotty in 15 mins! A normal 15 trip took us almost an hour!

Very best,

Ian

On the way home on the highway I passed a car and a truck pulled over on the other side of the median, there was a body covered with a blanket on the side of the road. I thought oh no someone got clipped on the side of the road, that's when I noticed the antlers outside the blanket.

Great hunt and photos!!
You made the right decision by playing it safe and adjusting your hunt accordingly most novices and newcomers to B.C. have no idea the danger they can get into in the North Pacific, especially with an under size, overloaded boat!

I'll definitely check the marine forecast before I venture out on the water again.

On the way home they announced a wind warning was in effect. I guess I should have had my radio on when I was making breakfast.
